FairSquare is continuing to grow its Data Engineering Department and has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Cloud Data Engineer. Reporting to the Director of Data Engineering, the Data Engineer will be focusing on cloud computing platforms, data architecture, and modern data engineering practices. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing scalable data pipelines and architectures in AWS, ensuring the efficient storage, processing, and analysis of large datasets from varying sources.
Responsibilities:
• Cloud Data Architecture: Design and implement scalable, secure, and efficient data solutions in AWS. Maintain, and optimize infrastructure for data processing and storage, ensuring scalability, cost efficiency, and high availability.
• Data Pipeline Development: Develop, test, and maintain robust data pipelines that move, transform, and store large datasets from various sources to varying locations (Snowflake, Salesforce, MySQL, Postgres, s3, SFTP).
• ELT Processes: Implement and optimize ELT processes to ensure data is clean, accurate, and accessible for analytics, reporting and data science.
• Data Storage Solutions: Manage cloud-based data storage (AWS S3, Snowflake) to ensure high performance, security, and scalability.
• Data Integration: Work closely with software engineers, Salesforce engineers, IT and stakeholders to integrate disparate data sources and ensure a smooth flow of data across operational systems.
• Automation: Automate data-related workflows, including data ingestion, transformation, and movement, to minimize manual intervention and improve efficiency.
• Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitor data pipeline performance and resolve issues proactively to ensure reliability and data accuracy.
• Documentation: Maintain clear, concise documentation of all data pipelines, architectures, and processes to facilitate collaboration and future development.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Data Scientists, Business Analysts, and other stakeholders, to understand data needs and deliver insights.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or other related field.
• Proven experience as a Cloud Data Engineer or Data Engineer with a strong background in cloud technologies.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in AWS, Data Management and Data Warehousing.
• Strong knowledge of SQL, Python, Snowflake, dbt, s3, lambda, airflow, terraform
• Understanding of data security and governance in cloud environments.
• Ability to optimize and tune cloud-based systems for cost efficiency and performance.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Physical Demands:
• Working in a temperature-controlled office environment
• Sitting at a desk for prolonged periods of time while viewing multiple computer screen monitors
• Potential lifting of boxes around 5-10lbs
